July 8, 2003 –  This falls into the, ‘I guess they had to learn the hard way file.’

We – and many others – had warned MSNBC not to take talk-radio host and best-selling author Michael Savage Weiner on as a host of a program on their faltering cable-TV network.  MSNBC figured having idiotic right-wing, hate-spewing big-mouths seemed to be working for everyone else, so why not get in on the pie.

Mr. Savage Weiner let them know in short order.

A caller, who had called in to discuss airport security, began giving the often belligerent Savage Weiner a piece of his mind.  Weiner responded with a tirade so bigoted at hateful that the crew of the MSNBC show, according to the LA Times, gasped.

He first told the caller, “You should get AIDS and die,” and then followed up with, “Put another sodomite on – I don’t care about these bums.”

MSNBC, finally coming to its senses, fired him immediately following the show, finally determining his comments, and Savage himself, were “inappropriate” for network airtime.

Wow, what a revelation?

The only question now is, ‘Is any other network out there going to begin acting with some integrity and pulling these idiots?  How about the vast radio network that carries Savage – will they still tolerate him and leave him on?

We’ll let you know.  For now, though, kudos to MSNBC for coming to its senses.  Hey, better late then never!
