AUGUST 19, 2003 -
Could it be more obvious?
Compare Davis' comments -
"What's happening here is part of an ongoing national effort by
Republicans to steal elections they cannot win." - to the Moderate
Independent's article Republicans
Decide To Do Away With Elections.
Compare Davis' turnabout from
mild-mannered wimp, to brash, combative attacker with The Moderate
Independent's article Gray Davis Changes
Strategy: Dons Leather Jacket, Uzi, Vows To "Terminate That
Oversized, Unqualified Idiot.
Compare his declaration that,
"The recall is bigger than California," that it is a "right-wing
power grab right before a Presidential election," with our article
Make No Mistake, For One Party The 2004
Election Has Already Begun.
And compare his finally
turning blame for the energy crisis solidly on Enron and Vice
President Cheney with the story we've been talking about all week,
M/I Talks To The Lady Who Blew The Whistle On Enron About Enron's Role
In The California Recall (available Thursday, 8/21) or his
commentary that while California was being soaked, Republicans were
cozying up with Ken Lay with the M/I story
Schwarzenegger Trails In Latest Poll - Press That Kissed His Ass For
Weeks Pretends It Doesn't Exist, and it's account of such closed
door meetings with Lay.
I think nothing could be
clearer.
Governor Davis of California
was floundering around, about to sail tamely into a recall induced
goodnight when, probably at around 3AM the night before he had to
give today's speech at UCLA, he encountered for the first time a new
news source called The Moderate Independent.
It's ok, Gov, we won't charge
you royalties. The only thing we ask is that you don't get
completely carried away and start acting out our story
